2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac Blend Door Actuator Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the Blend Door Actuator for the Panel/Floor Door on 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac?
A: The first step in servicing the air door actuator/motor for the panel/floor door is to remove the lower steering column opening finish panel through screw removal and disconnecting the hood release handle. Next, separate the two screws and release the retaining clips. The service begins with removing the bolts which secure the lower steering column opening finish panel reinforcement and then removing the two bolts which anchor the floor console mounting bracket. The vacuum hose must be disconnected while you also remove the screws. You need to rotate the vacuum control motor while disengaging the lever before removing the vacuum control motor with caution because the lever has brittleness which might lead to breakage. Follow each settlement with the inverse order of removal to achieve installation.
