How to service and repair the rear parking brake cable and conduit on 2002 Ford F-150?

Start all rear parking brake cable and conduit repairs after releasing the parking brake control handle and letting the tension out of the parking brake system. Introduce a proper retaining device after you pull the front parking brake cable together with the conduit. The first step requires vehicle elevation for accessing the repair area. After support the vehicle has been raised disconnect the front parking brake cable and conduit by pulling the right-hand (RH) parking brake rear cable and conduit forward to unclip it. The procedure for the RH rear cable requires users to compress the retainer and pull it away from the parking brake cable equalizer. You must disconnect the left-hand (LH) rear cable by unscrewing it from the equalizer bracket then easing the cable retainer and finishing with the cable detachment. When uninstalling the RH rear cable users should separate it from the axle housing assembly. First detach the cable support bracket by removing its bracket together with the bolt. Cable and conduit removal for the rear parking brake must be done by compressing retainers and separating the assembly. The installation process requires following the reversal steps of removal.
