To service the muffler, raise and support the vehicle. Support rear axle, remove upper arm-to-differential bolt, disconnect rear shocks and discard nut and bolt, lower axle and remove converter flange nuts. Detach exhaust pipe, remove hanger insulators and muffler. Avoid oil- or grease-based lubricants; use soap and water. Reverse steps.
