2002 Ford Mustang Sway Bar Bushing Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the Sway Bar Bushing on 2002 Ford Mustang?
A: A hoist must lift the vehicle before beginning sway bar bushing service and repair work that starts with tire and wheel removal. The front stabilizer bar links need to be separated from the front stabilizer bar through nut and bushing removal before discarding the nuts while turning the stabilizer bar to break the link connection. Eliminate the nuts from the system before removing both the stabilizer bar bracket and stabilizer bar mounting bracket adapter. Saw off the stabilizer bar insulators which are attached to the stabilizer bar. All necessary parts on the front stabilizer bar should receive a coating with Rubber Suspension Insulator Lube E25Y-19553-A followed by the inside diameter of the sway bar bushing. The complete installation process ends with reversing the removal steps. The suspension system integrity should be maintained through the use of a new part that either has the same part number or an equivalent part alongside the specified torque values for reassembly.
