2002 Ford Thunderbird A/C Switch Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the A/C Switch control assembly on 2002 Ford Thunderbird?
A: The first step when servicing and repairing the control assembly is to disconnect the battery. The first step requires removal of the lower instrument panel sheet followed by switch panel screws before placing both components aside. The center register removal needs a mini-pick which will also disconnect the connector when present on the instrument panel. Start by removing screws which will enable you to carefully draw the Dual Automatic Temperature Control (DATC) and radio assembly away from the instrument panel by disconnecting two connectors. When removing the dual automatic temperature control assembly open the four screws located on each side with caution because the control assembly has three pins that secure into the bottom of the radio bezel. Follow the reverse steps of removal while installation so new dual automatic temperature control modules require proper configuration.
