2002 Ford Thunderbird Heater Core Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the heater core on 2002 Ford Thunderbird?
A: Starting the heater core service requires separation of the evaporator core housing. Perform a leak test on the heater core through direct vehicle inspection when leak suspicion emerges. The evaporator core housing needs screws removal to detach from the air inlet housing followed by disengaging a clip to split these components. Full detaching the evaporator core housing from the air inlet housing requires removing the gasket together with nine screws and the clip. The bypass door connector must be disconnected then placed aside with the harness as the next step before unscrewing those holding the heater core in position. After screw removal the heater core and heater core tube gasket must be taken out from the vehicle. Follow the opposite steps used for removal to install the components.
