  A: Service and repair of the cruise control servo starts with engine cover removal if it exists in your vehicle. The cable end of the speed control actuator must be detached from the throttle nailhead by applying force forward of the head. Start the service by taking off the LF wheel and tire then proceeding to remove the LF inner splash shield. The speed control servo bracket assembly should be placed aside before disconnecting the electrical connector and removing the bolts to separate the servo from the bracket. Press the locking tab before rotating the speed control actuator cable cap to detach it and remove the speed control servo pulley cable by using the retaining spring gently and disconnecting the speed control cable slug. To properly install the speed control servo pulley slot requires placement of the speed control cable slug until it reaches full position in the slot. The speed control actuator cable cap tabs should directly face the slots in the speed control servo housing while assuring both the cap seal and the rubber seal are properly seated on the cap. Leverage the cap until the locking tab enters position before attaching the bracket to the speed control servo along with bolt installation. Install the speed control servo bracket assembly before plugging in the electrical connector and fitting the LF inner splash shield. Last of all, reattach the wheel and tire before hooking the speed control actuator cable to the throttle nailhead. Install the engine cover if it is present.
