How to service the coolant temperature sensor/switch for the computer on 2002 Mercury Cougar?

To service coolant temperature sensor, release pressure of the cooling system by covering the expansion tank cap with a cloth and rotating it 1/4 turn to the counterclockwise. Dislodge the electrical connector and take off the sensor. To install, follow the procedures in reverses and fill the cooling system accordingly.
