  A: The first step for servicing a non-functional ignition switch lock cylinder is disconnecting the battery ground cable and waiting at least one minute. The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) must be disabled because serious personal injuries will occur unless you take this step first. Transition to servicing the ignition switch lock cylinder by taking out the steering wheel then unscrewing the protective cap. The lock cylinder retaining pin must be drilled out using a 1/8-inch diameter drill bit.
