How to service and repair the wiper motor on 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis?

In order to repair and service the wiper motor, take off the mounting arm and pivot shaft assembly followed by the windshield wiper motor cover. Unlink the wiper motor connection by removing the clip and disconnecting it. Take out the windshield wipers motor, one does this by unscrewing the bolts and pulling out the motor. Uninstall then re-install in reverse order.
