2003 Ford E-150 Throttle Cable Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the throttle cable and linkage on 2003 Ford E-150?
A: Throttle cable service and repair starts with holding the accelerator pedal steady while disconnecting the cable from both its accelerator pedal and shaft location. Initiate engine Air Cleaner (ACL) removal together with its outlet tube. The accelerator cable pin-type retainer must be detached from the accelerator control splash shield before removing the splash shield. Drivers should break the accelerator cable from its bulkhead position by using internal compression on its retaining cable tabs. The throttle body cam accepts the accelerator cable before removing both the cable and its current clip which gets disposed. To install the accelerator cable to the accelerator cable bracket use compression on its retaining tabs. The installation involves following the reverse process of removal procedures while adding a new pin-type accelerator cable retaining clip.
