How to service the radiator on 2003 Ford Escape?

The radiator maintenance process starts with draining the cooling system then raising and supporting the vehicle. Beginning the radiator service requires the removal of lower splash shields followed by disconnecting the lower radiator hose and high pressure transmission line and degas return hose. Service the radiator by first lowering the vehicle then disconnecting the transmission return line and following it with upper radiator hose and degas supply hose removal steps. Position the hood latch assembly outside the work area before you remove its two bolts and the center support. The cooling fan requires removal through disconnection of the two top bolts which lead to taking out the radiator support brackets to extract the radiator from the vehicle. The installation process for the new radiator requires the opposite steps of removal.
