  A: Service or repair of the upper intake manifold requires starting by removing the ground cable from the battery. Start by detaching the air cleaner assembly with the outlet tube before eliminating pin-type retainers and snow shield from the unit. The throttle body requires removal of the accelerator cable together with speed control actuator cable and throttle return spring before removing the bolts and moving the accelerator cable bracket out of the way. The hoses require separation which includes severing the vacuum hose together with the Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) return tube. The maintenance process requires removing the electrical connections from both Idle Air Control (IAC) valve and Throttle Position (TP) sensor and engine wiring harness attached to the intake manifold support bracket.
