2003 Ford Thunderbird Brake Master Cylinder Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the Brake Master Cylinder and Brake Booster on 2003 Ford Thunderbird?
A: A proper brake boost and master cylinder service requires operators to take out components according to their specific order. The first step requires removing the Vapor Management Valve (VMV) with its bracket for temporary storage. Start the process by first taking off the wiper arm nuts then removing the wiper arms before disconnecting the washer hose leading to the cowl cover removal where you should remove its pushpins and rubber trim. Next step is to remove the cowl brace center bolts and end bolts and the bracket after taking off the cowl cover. Cut off the coolant reservoir return hose while using a wrench to take out all coolant reservoir bolts. You should remove brake booster-to-brake pedal bracket nuts while also disassembling the brake pedal pin from the brake booster input shaft through a clip removal followed by separating the input shaft from the pedal pin. Follow the opposite steps of removal to install the system.
