2004 Ford Thunderbird Brake Master Cylinder Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the brake master cylinder and brake booster on 2004 Ford Thunderbird?
A: Starting brake master cylinder and brake booster servicing requires following the precise order of removing the elements first. The first step requires extraction of the Vapor Management Value (VMV) assembly with bracket together with its placement aside. First eliminate both wiper arm nuts and elements before doing the washer hose connection. The procedure starts with unfastening pushpins from the cowl cover and trimming the rubber followed by lifting off the cover. First remove the center cowl brace bolts before taking off the end bolts and bracket. You must detach the return hose to the coolant reservoir before taking out the bolts which hold the reservoir in place. First remove the nuts attaching the brake booster-to-brake pedal bracket then unfasten the brake pedal pin from the brake booster input shaft by taking out the brake pedal pin clip. The last step of the procedure includes disconnecting the booster input shaft from the brake pedal pin. The installation process should follow the exact opposite steps of component removal.
