Service and repair of the 4R100 automatic transmission mount begins with hoisting the vehicle into neutral position. After removing the rear transmission support nuts put a suitable transmission jack in place. Raise only the transmission back slightly since excessive height could harm the TSS and OSS sensors. A transmission lift should be used to raise the back end while removing bolts followed by removing the rear transmission mount. Reinstall the rear transmission mount into its original position before using the bolts to fasten it. Place the transmission onto the crossmember before reinstalling its fastening nuts. Proceed with lowering the vehicle and reestablish the connection of the battery ground cable after dismounting the high lift transmission jack.
