Clean the sealing areas of the EGR valve because its surfaces are composed of soft metals. The EGR valve requires installation with a new gasket before secure tightening of the bolts at 20 Nm (15 lb-ft) then completing the process by adding another 90 degrees of torque. The EGR valve tube upper fitting needs reconnection along with the EGR vacuum hose before you put back the engine cover.
