How to Service the EGR Valve on Ford E-250?

A proper start to servicing EGR valves requires removing the engine cover before proceeding. The first step entails disconnecting the EGR valve tube upper fitting and EGR vacuum hose before removing the EGR valve bolts which necessitate the disposal of an EGR gasket. Clean the sealing areas of the EGR valve because its surfaces are composed of soft metals. The EGR valve requires installation with a new gasket before secure tightening of the bolts at 20 Nm (15 lb-ft) then completing the process by adding another 90 degrees of torque. The EGR valve tube upper fitting needs reconnection along with the EGR vacuum hose before you put back the engine cover.
