To service the EGR valve, loosen the engine cover, disconnect the upper fitting and vacuum hose and loosen the valve bolts, throwing away the gasket. Prepare the surfaces to be sealed, place a new gasket and valve, tighten bolts in two parts, re-connect fittings and replace the engine cover.
