2004 Ford Expedition Throttle Position Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Service the Throttle Position Sensor on 2004 Ford Expedition?
A: Starting the Throttle Position (TP) Sensor repair process requires you to disconnect the battery ground cable then eliminate the engine appearance cover. Carry out the removal sequence of engine appearance cover bolts and bracket for 4.6L vehicle models. Begin by removing the idle air control (IAC) valve hose together with the engine breather hose while placing them to one side. Before working on the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) vacuum regulator solenoid bracket of 4.6L vehicles the bolts must be removed. The differential pressure feedback EGR system bracket nut and bolt must be removed for 5.4L vehicles before setting the bracket somewhere else. First detach the TP sensor electrical connector then take off the screws to free the TP sensor housing. The installation of the new sensor should begin by following the opposite steps used during removal.
