The removal process begins with the sight shield after removing its bolts then moving forward to remove the hood latch bolt configuration before setting them away. Through the removal process the hood latch cable conduit together with the hood latch cable must be released so the hood latch can be fully removed. The hood latch cable must be installed before the cable conduit during service and repair procedures. Install the hood latch by positioning it correctly while inserting the bolts which should initially be loose enough to enable adjustment. Place the hood latch against the hood latch striker before tightening all bolts. Use Multi-Purpose Grease Spray F5AZ-19G209-AA or an equivalent product meeting Ford specification ESR-M1C159-A for lubricating the latch. Check that the hood latch striker fully connects to the latch before starting. The boot latch alignment needs to be checked again through multiple installation processes. Position the sight shield over the radiator grille before locking its clips then installing the bolts.
