    A: The service and repair of the rear door latch starts by taking out the rear door trim panel and the side impact energy absorption panel. To access the door latch remote control the inner panel requires removal of its screw followed by using a flat-bladed screwdriver to insert it into the semi-circular hole then pulling the front of the remote control while unhooking it from the inner panel. Risks are high to avoid touching the adhesive surface because this will hinder re-bonding; peel back the watershield before disconnecting the door latch actuator electrical connector. Pull out the exterior door handle access hole grommet and window guide runner whilst making sure that the exterior door handle cover screw remains disengaged but does not need to come out from its place. Start by loosening the screw and continuing to remove the exterior door handle cover before freeing the exterior door handle using slide motion. Finish by taking off both gaskets from the assembly. Totally detach screws from exterior door handle cover during removal. Use a clip to detach the door latch and follow it with plate removal from the exterior door handle reinforcement by pressing the clip connecting mechanism. The exterior door handle reinforcement plate unlocks when rotated 90 degrees counterclockwise followed by the door latch connecting rod that releases when rotated 90 degrees counterclockwise and its adjustment clip clears. Disengage the door latch remote control outer cable then turn the remote control to the right before extracting the door latch. The installation starts with placing the door latch remote control onto the door latch before installing the connecting rod through 90-degree clockwise rotation and finally attaching the exterior door handle plate to the connecting rod then to the door latch. Press the door latch into position while enabling locking tangs but maintain the door latch rear screw loose at this time. Connect the screws along with the gaskets prior to inserting the exterior door handle while press-fitting it into position and screwing it tight. Start by screwing the exterior door handle cover followed by setting the latch position with the door latch connecting rod adjustment clip. Process the following installation steps: attach electrical wires to the door latch and install both window guide kits and exterior door handle plugins before securing door latch fasteners. Attach the door latch remote control to the watershield by placing the handle into its fixing then install the screw if present. Check that the door latch produces two audible sounds when the lever achieves complete closure during the installation of the side impact energy absorption panel. The remote control rocker lever allows door latch locking and unlocking while the exterior door handle opens at 75% of travel distance before reaching a final 5-6 mm move after latch release. Continue with the installation by reinstalling the rear door trim panel unless the door latch fails to open properly. In this case reset the door latch connecting rod adjustment clip before finishing the installation.
