Service of the upper intake manifold starts with disconnecting the battery ground cable. Open service on the upper intake manifold by starting with outlet pipe removal and next perform bolting and snow shield removal. The service begins by disconnecting the accelerator cable and speed control cable and return spring before detaching the cables from the accelerator bracket. First disconnect the electrical connectors of the throttle position (TP) sensor and idle air control (IAC) valve as well as sever the two vacuum hoses. Preventively detach the 42-pin wiring harness retainer from the stud bolt and then eliminate the nut and stud bolt before properly placing the 42-pin wiring harness and bracket to the side.
