2004 Lincoln Aviator A/C Condenser Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the A/C Condenser core in an A/C system on 2004 Lincoln Aviator?
A: The first step for servicing the condenser core requires disassembling the cooling module together with its attached components in a proper sequence. The correct use of Refrigerant Compressor Oil F73Z-19577-AA (Motorcraft YN-9-A) exists only for O-ring seal lubrication in R-134a refrigerant systems and excludes compressor lubrication. The specified oil for compressor lubrication either is PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil F7AZ-19D589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or an equivalent oil that fulfills Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B. A new receiver/drier needs installation in the air conditioning system only when there are obvious signs from either a defective A/C compressor or damaged receiver/drier. All disconnected A/C fittings must receive new installation of O-ring seals which require lubrication using clean mineral oil before reattachment. Installation requires the opposite procedure of lifting torquing and repeated fitting of all components followed by correct application of clean PAG oil for refrigerant system lubrication.
