2004 Lincoln Aviator A/C Hose Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service the front auxiliary evaporator outlet and inlet A/C hose on 2004 Lincoln Aviator?
A: The procedure to access and service the front inlet and outlet of the auxiliary evaporator requires vehicle placement on a hoist at neutral gear position. The refrigerant recovery process should start before removing RH running board brackets and then proceeding in the mentioned order. R-134a refrigerant system O-ring seals need exclusive use of refrigerant compressor oil (mineral oil) F73Z-19577-AA (Motorcraft YN-9-A) while PAG refrigerant compressor oil F7AZ-19D589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or an equivalent to Ford standard WSH-M1C231-B serves as the A/C compressor lubricant. A replacement receiver/drier becomes necessary only when there are signs of contamination from a faulty A/C compressor or evidence of receiver/drier physical damage. The reinstallation of any disconnected A/C fitting requires you to install new O-ring seals which should be previously lubricated with clean mineral oil. The installation process requires reversing all removal steps while using the proper amount of clean PAG oil to lubricate the refrigeration system before evacuation and leak testing and finally charging the system.
