How to service and repair the muffler and tailpipe on 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis?

In order to fix the muffler and tailpipe, disengage the air suspension system and place the car in neutral. Take the clamp off, and cut the muffler off the tailpipe, and check the insulator. change where necessary, and remove tailpipe. Use new fasteners, screw them on alternate and then unscrew using the same procedure. Use no oil based lubricants on insulators.
