2004 Mercury Marauder EGR Valve Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the EGR Valve System Module on 2004 Mercury Marauder?
A: Service of the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system module starts with disconnecting both electrical connections and vacuum hoses. You should first unplug the vacuum hose before taking out the bolt which disconnects the accelerator cables from the retainer. Unfasten the bolt which holds the bracket for the accelerator cable. First disconnect the EGR tube from the EGR valve then remove all bolts and EGR system module (ESM) valve with its gasket along with the EGR tube. To install the system follow the disassembly order in reverse while using a new EGR system module gasket.
