The service of the rocker arm assembly starts with valve covers removal beginning with the left-hand (LH) then right-hand (RH) ones. The successful installation of rocker arms depends on correct identification of their original positions when replacement is necessary. Note down the positions of the rocker arms and then take out their bolts followed by the rocker arms themselves. When installing replace the parts by following the reverse order but tighten the rocker arm bolts through two stages: first set to 10 Nm (89 lb-in) and then proceed to 32 Nm (24 lb-ft).
