2005 Ford Crown Victoria Brake Booster Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the vacuum brake booster on 2005 Ford Crown Victoria?
A: Service and repair of the vacuum brake booster starts by disconnecting the battery ground cable and the fluid level sensor connector. Start by moving the speed control cable aside before moving onto the check valve of the power brake booster. Start by removing master cylinder brake nuts before removing the connector from the wiring harness bracket and placing them both aside. Set the brake master cylinder to the side after you remove it from the system. Begin service by taking out the panel pushpins from the instrument close-out and the instrument close-out itself. The first step involves unfastening the stoplight switch retaining pin after which you can slide out the stoplight switch and booster push rod from the brake pedal pin. After removing the brake booster retaining nuts you should take out the power brake booster. During installation check that the brake switch has the closed hole pointed away from the brake pedal arm and its open hole oriented towards the top of the arm while ensuring that the brake booster input rod faces correctly. You should follow the opposite installation steps to finish your work.
