Service of the knock sensor requires starting by placing the vehicle in neutral position and using a hoist for support. The first step is to disconnect the battery ground wire before taking off the intake manifold. Before replacing the knock sensor you need to extract both the bolt and the sensor device. To complete installation fit the knock sensor by tightening it to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft) using the removed procedure in reverse order.
