How to service the Knock Sensor (KS) on Ford Escape?

To service Knock Sensor (KS) first ensure to raise and support the vehicle. Take the KS electrical connector off the mounting bracket, which is on the right hand side of the cylinder block. Then, get the securing nut and loosen the sensor. Installation is just a matter of undoing the steps of removal.

How to service the knock sensor on Ford Escape?

In order to service the knock sensor, put the vehicle in neutral position on the hoist and remove the battery ground cable. Disassemble the intake manifold, and then remove the bolt and knock sensor. To install, screw the new sensor to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft) and undo the steps of removal to complete.
