- Q: How to service the rear seat cushion on 2005 Ford F-150?A: Service of the rear seat cushion starts with removing the entire rear seat cushion first. First remove the LATCH for children (LATCH) bolts and LATCH from the four rear seat lower anchor positions after ensuring a tight torque of 6 Nm (53 lb-in) during reassembly. Dismantle both the 60/40 retention clip together with the center support riser. The support riser bolt needs removal first before tightening it to 25 Nm while reattaching the support riser pivot bolt alongside bushing using 40 Nm torque settings. Dispose of the left support riser then remove the latch handle screw and handle followed by the latch cover screw and cover as well as the latch cushion bolt and latch which should be tightened to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft) for reinstallation. Guard against tearing seat upholstery when separating its hook and loop strip from foam pad before separating both fasteners. Start by taking out the hog rings from the 60 percent cushion trim cover and proceeding to eliminate the 60 percent cushion foam pad followed by the 60 percent inboard pivot bushing. Reposition the 40 percent seat by removing the support riser bolt at 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) torque then using the 40 Nm (30 lb-ft) torque setting for reinstalling the support riser pivot bolt with bushing and right support riser. First remove the latch handle screw followed by the handle before removing the latch cover screw and its cover and ultimately the latch bolt and latch until reflux torque reaches 30 Nm (22 lb-ft) for reassembly. Disassemble the hook and loop strip from the upholstery with care before removing the hog rings from the 40 percent trim cover followed by the removal of the 40 percent foam pad including the 40 percent inboard pivot bushing. The process must be finished by following the steps of reverse disassembly for assembly.
