2005 Ford Focus Transmitter Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to program keyless entry remote transmitters on 2005 Ford Focus?
A: An effective process to program keyless entry remote transmitters requires you to work with a maximum of 4 devices at once with a fully charged battery and an unactivated anti-theft system. Start the procedure by sealing all doors since this helps avoid conflicting system sounds throughout the programming process. Operate the ignition switch from position I to position II four times in six seconds followed by positioning it to 0. The system will generate a sound that indicates the learning mode has started. To confirm the programming process of a new remote transmitter press any button on the remote within ten seconds until the chime sounds as a signal the programming was successful. The learning mode enters automatically a second time for ten more seconds following each successful programming while allowing the programming of four transmitters in total. The button press should be repeated during the time limit to add extra transmitters. The learning mode from the system ends when the ignition switch reaches position III or after a ten-second lack of programming or when the maximum four transmitters have been added. Failed programming attempts will not erase any previously stored codes but will lead to acceptance of the newly added transmitters. All programmed remote transmitters must be tested by both activating and deactivating the remote locking and unlocking functions.
