How to Service and Repair the Rear Brake Disc on 2005 Ford Thunderbird?

A vehicle must be placed in NEUTRAL position on a hoist before beginning servicing or repairing the rear brake rotor/disc. Through proper tooling disconnect the two bolts securing the brake caliper anchor plate while holding both components to the vehicle with an appropriate support method before placing them aside temporarily. A new brake disc should replace the old one when the disc thickness measurement falls below specifications. Examine the brake caliper for the disc brakes before replacing it if required. During prep work apply brake parts cleaner on the brake disc and wheel hub while avoiding contact between lubricant materials and wheel studs, brake pads or brake disc. Before assembly apply a thin layer of anti-seize lubricant to the hub flange before fitting the brake caliper along with its anchor plate while tightening the two bolts to reach 103 Nm tension. Check brake function to verify normal operation before completing the work.
