How to service the Wiper Arm pivot on 2005 Ford Thunderbird?

When servicing the wiper pivot arm start by first disconnecting the battery as this disables auto-park functionality of the windshield wiper system. Adjust the battery power then unfasten the wiper pivot arm nut cover and its nut and pivot arm in that order. Reinstall the battery before performing a wiper cycle for parking the wipers in place. Install the wiper blade and pivot arm onto the pivot shaft while making sure the blade sits directly on the orange dots of the windshield before securing it. Fasten the wiper pivot arm with its nut while tightening it to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) before installing the wiper pivot arm nut cover.
