2005 Lincoln Aviator Mass Air Flow Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How Should the Mass Air Flow Sensor Be Serviced and Reinstalled on 2005 Lincoln Aviator?
A: Service technicians must handle the mass air flow (MAF) sensor electronics module and body as an integrated unit yet they should not alter the sensing elements in the air flow bypass system. The battery ground cable should be disconnected first then follow with the electrical connector for the MAF sensor and finally the air cleaner outlet tube removal. Follow by disconnecting the electrical connector of the MAF sensor as well as the tubes before tightening all four bolts which should achieve 10 Nm torque (89 lb-in) during installation. Return the MAF sensor with its gasket following the reverse order of disassembly.
