2005 Lincoln LS Transmitter Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to program the remote keyless entry (RKE) transmitters on 2005 Lincoln LS?
A: All remote keyless entry transmitters need simultaneous programming for correct operation. The process starts with electronic door unlocking through the RKE transmitter or RKE keypad (if present) or door lock control switch when the driver door remains open. Turn the key from OFF to RUN eight times within 10 seconds while ending on RUN for the eighth cycle to enter program mode successfully so that all doors will lock then unlock. Each RKE transmitter validation requires the button press once within 20 seconds so it correctly programs the doors for lock and unlock functions. Press the button a second time after waiting for several seconds when the door locks fail to operate. Check for any possible problems while also verifying there is no excessive usage of installed RKE transmitters. The key turns to OFF to exit programming mode but the program also ends if 20 seconds pass after entering programming mode or when programming the maximum number of transmitters.
