How to service the rear bumper cover on 2005 Lincoln Navigator?

The service process for the rear bumper cover begins with bolt removal of rear fender splash shield and continues with rear bumper cover securing nuts and bolts. Disconnection of the electrical connector requiring a reverse parking aid must be performed. The installation process starts with removing the lower pin-type retainers from the rear bumper cover and liftgate trim by pulling out corresponding pin-type retainers. You shall detach the rear bumper cover by removing both pin-type retainers and bolts which follow the initial bumper cover removal. Reinstall the system using the opposite approach which was used for removal.
