One must start the repair process of the rear bumper cover by dissembling all 5 rear fender splash shield bolts then moving on to take out 6 nuts and bolts securing the rear bumper cover. Disconnection of electrical connectors must be performed first when working on vehicles with reverse parking systems. The installation begins with removing both pin-type retainers from the liftgate trim and rear bumper cover by pulling out their 2 corresponding pin-type retainers. You must detach the rear bumper cover by taking out both 2 bolts and 5 pin-type retainers. The correct installation method for the new bumper cover follows the steps from removal backward.
