Disconnect the wheel speed sensor wiring harness retainer which resides on the wheel knuckle. Discard the upper ball joint nut before replacing it with a new one secured at 150 Nm (111 ft. lbs.). Follow these steps to uninstall the shock absorber and spring assembly lower nut and flag bolt while discarding the nut and installing a new one at 225 Nm (166 foot pounds). All bushing retainers require tightening when the vehicle rests on its wheels and the removal step must be followed as the installation proceeds.
