    A: Safety glasses should always be worn while servicing the front door side impact sensor to avoid potential injuries from accidental air bag deployment. Correct vehicle sensor orientation must be checked before proceeding for normal system operation. Inspect any damaged SRS components and sensor along with the mounting bracket and wiring pigtail for deformation after a collision. Sensor replacement is mandatory in this situation. Memory saver devices should not be used because they present personal injury hazards. During measurement of the RCM fuse state while the ignition switch is ON the air bag warning lamp will activate normally even without fault. The vehicle can only be handed over to customers after completion of SRS system checks that show zero faults. To resolve issues install a new component although another check of the original part should occur with possible repeated diagnostic testing. first depower the system and after that remove front interior door trim panel to detach the rearward lower corner of watershield which enables access to side impact sensor.
