Start by unmounting the fuel pump from its place. Noting where the sending unit wire travels will help with wire installation during the next step. First, cut away the heat shrink tube covering the electrical connector before you disconnect the electrical connector. Remove the screw from its location as you lift the fuel gauge sending unit into removal position. Install the fuel gauge sending unit wire by passing it through the fuel pump module center and place each wire behind the metal plate while ensuring the grounding eyelet faces the front side of the unit. Install the fuel gauge sending unit by mounting it to the fuel pump module while passing the screw through the grounding eyelet then tighten it. A heat gun should be used to shrink the heat shrink tube which covers the wireless harness before connecting the electrical connector. Finally, reinstall the fuel pump.
