    A: Begin filtering and repairing the automatic transmission fluid filter by setting your vehicle to neutral and hoisting it before you place a drain pan under the transmission fluid pan. The first step requires removing the drain plug to drain the fluid. The transmission fluid pan gasket can be reused through cleaning to check for damage or replacement if found undamaged. The required next step involves removing 16 transmission fluid pan screws as well as the fluid pan along with its gasket. Remove the old transmission fluid filter and clean the transmission fluid pan together with its magnet for inspection. Place clean automatic transmission fluid on the seals of the new filter before installing it properly on the filter housing and tighten it to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.). Place the transmission fluid pan magnet into the fluid pan then secure it with the gasket material.
