How to Service and Repair the Automatic Transmission Shift Knob on 2006 Ford Five Hundred?

In order to service the automatic transmission shifter, lift the vehicle with the transmission in neutral. Move the lower selector lever knob bezel down, loosen the bolt and loosen the knob. To install, loosen the knob, fix it with the bolt and position the bezel back in.
