It is essential to verify the correct position for the production exhaust system cut before beginning the modification. The vehicle needs to be placed in the NEUTRAL gear before hoisting it onto position. In order to protect the exhaust flexible pipe from harm when installed you need to minimize bending or twisting motions and use a wrap or suitable splint as support. The installation process requires the removal of 2 exhaust flexible pipe nuts that lead to the muffler system assembly while discarding both nuts and gasket. Optional new studs may be necessary if replacement is needed. You should remove the front exhaust hanger insulators from the tailpipe and muffler assembly before cutting the exhaust system. The front muffler needs to disconnect from both exhaust hanger insulators in front and back before taking out the muffler assembly. Installation requires front muffler service section assembly along with a check of exhaust hanger insulators for damage or fatigue before performing any replacement of needed components. You should begin by fixing both the tailpipe and muffler assembly to the front exhaust hanger insulators then move forward with installation by connecting the front muffler to the rear and front exhaust hanger insulators. Install new service clamps by tightening them to 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.), then add a new gasket and nuts and finally position the exhaust flexible pipe to the tailpipe and muffler assembly and tighten 2 nuts to 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.). The exhaust flexible pipe should be free from dramatic bends or twists before support removal.
