2006 Ford Mustang A/C Hose Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the A/C Hose for the Compressor Manifold and Tube Assembly on a 4.0L Engine on 2006 Ford Mustang?
A: An initial step for repairing the compressor manifold and tube assembly of 4.0L engines starts with refrigerant recovery. Start the service by removing both the air cleaner along with its outlet tube and then disconnect the vapor management valve. Exercising extreme caution by the fuel-related components is vital due to the highly flammable mixture when you should relieve fuel system pressure before disconnecting fuel lines to stop accidental spraying. The procedure requires disconnecting the fuel supply line fitting combined with unfastening the compressor manifold bolt so the compressor manifold can be separated from the assembly. Throw away the O-ring seals during this process. The next step is to take out the compressor manifold and tube bracket nut which should be tightened at 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) during reinstallation. Disconnect both the electrical connector of the pressure transducer and the outlet fitting of the suction accumulator then dispose of the O-ring seals. The installation requires you to discard the O-ring seal after removing the condenser inlet fitting nut yet tighten the fitting to 8 Nm (71 lb-in) during reinstallation. The installation process requires execution in reverse order while using new O-ring seals and proper PAG oil lubrication of the refrigerant system. Evacuate the system during the final step along with performing both leak testing and charging the refrigerant system.
