How to service the rear ABS sensor on 2006 Ford Ranger?

A hoisted vehicle must be in NEUTRAL before servicing the rear ABS sensor. Start by disconnecting the battery ground cable followed by removal of the ABS sensor electrical connector. Unfasten the bolt which secures the ABS sensor before removing it from the vehicle. Follow the installation procedure by fastening the sensor bolt until it reaches 27 Nm torque (20 ft. lbs.). You must seal the sensor opening before cleaning every surface of the mounting area. At this step also check for damage on your anti-lock brake sensor O-ring while applying a small amount of axle lubricant before reattaching everything during sensor installation.
