Research and repair procedures for front parking brake cables need the parking brake control at full release and the parking brake system tension needs relief through pulling down on the parking brake intermediate cable then inserting a 4 mm (5/32 inch) drill bit or equivalent retainer into the parking brake control. Begin by taking off the LH fender splash shield then disconnect the front parking brake cable from the parking brake intermediate cable through its union. Use the clip compression tool to break off the front parking brake cable from the frame bracket while the conduit is at the same time along with the front parking brake cable from the parking brake control through another clip compression. To install the new cable follow the opposite procedure of removal while guiding the front cable through the spool's loop.
