2006 Lincoln Mark LT Power Window Motor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the rear power window motor and window regulator on 2006 Lincoln Mark LT?
A: The procedure for servicing the rear window glass regulator and motor starts with removing the pin-type retainers of the rear trim panel and then removing the rear trim panel together with the rear corner trim. The process for SuperCab vehicles includes removing their B-pillar trim panel and SuperCrew vehicles must uninstall their C-pillar trim panel. To keep cables inside the motor housing the operator should free the LH cable followed by the RH cable but maintain the transition block out of the vehicle centerline. This prevents cables from unwinding from the drum thus requiring replacement of the regulator-motor assembly. Gently lift the transition block top using the cable while holding it near the block to free the groove then slowly release the cable from the clamp which lets the tension spring in the motor housing unload. The first step involves removing the cable swag from the guide bracket on the sliding rear window and disconnecting the rear window glass motor electrical connector. After which the screws securing the rear window glass regulator and motor assembly need to be removed before extracting the entire assembly from the vehicle. Position the motor assembly with glass regulator inside the vehicle while tightening its screws to 11 Nm (8 lb-ft). Reinstall the rear window glass motor electrical connector by starting with the LH cable then proceed with the RH cable while placing the cable swag into the guide bracket on the sliding rear window. First position the cable tension spring for compression while urging the transition block away from the centerline before fitting it into the groove and releasing the pressure from the spring. The transition block should maintain correct positioning until it rests at a 10 mm (0.39 in) height above the window opening. The installation concludes by placing back the rear corner trim and the SuperCab gets B-pillar trim panel while SuperCrew gets C-pillar trim panel followed by a rear trim panel and secure the panel by pin-type retainers.
