All vehicle front door window regulator servicing starts with removing the front door trim panel followed by the screws securing the front door speaker. Next disconnect the electrical connector. The next step should involve removing the front door weathershield. The window control switch connection and subsequent window glass lowering will provide access to the two window glass-to-regulator retaining bolts when repairing the Expedition model. Disconnect the window control switch to access both window glass-to-regulator bolts on the front door window glass before removing them and tightening the bolts to 11 Nm (8 lb-ft) for reinstall. To secure the front window glass during installation position it in the UP position and use tape for attachment at the front door frame. The proper sequence includes relocating the interior door handle followed by removing the cable conduit fitting from the carrier assembly then lifting the interior door handle retaining bracket for pivoting the handle out of the bracket to extract the cable from the door handle. Free up the pin-type retainers on the crash sensor harness before setting the front door window regulator harness aside while pulling off its electrical connectors and releasing the pin-type retainers. The removal of the front window regulator requires you to first soften the two hanger bolts before removing front window regulator bolts and front top run channel bolts which need to be tightened to 11 Nm (8 lb-ft) torque before reinstalling. Finish the installation by executing the opposite actions of removal.
