When service is required on the thermostat housing, first drain the cooling system, and loosen the bolts holding the coolant outlet adapter and hose. As required, replace O-ring seal and thermostat. Uninstall and reinstall with reversal of procedure, tightening of bolts to 25 Nm, and refill of cooling system.
